Typical dimensions

  • Outer diameter of the insert: 180 mm
  • Total length of the insert  with IVC: up to 2500 mm
  • Approximate sample space at low temperature (depends on Dewar and magnet): from 140 mm in diameter up to 400 mm in length

Special Features:

  • Joule Thomson exchanger (replacing a separately pumped bath condenser)
  • Easily removable IVC (three clamps and an indium seal)
  • Exchangeable connector plates on experimental lines
  • Radiation shields and IVC can be designed to fit into a superconducting magnet

Optional Features:

  • 1K pot for heatsinking of wiring or can be used for experiments at 1K
  • Special access and/or line of sight ports
  • Custom sample holder (Swedish rotators for example)
  • Thermometry from 8mK to 4.2K
  • Remote controlled Gas Handling System (GHS)

Temperature measurement is made with a TRMC2 controller and RuO2 thermometer calibrated by Nuclear Orientation. The temperature sensor is located in vacuum on the mixing chamber plate.
