CRYOMAGNETICS Acquires CRYOCONCEPT

Oak Ridge, TN, March 1, 2008, CRYOMAGNETICS, Incorporated, a world leader in the development and production of high-performance cryogenic superconducting magnet systems, has announced it has completed the acquisition of CRYOCONCEPT.

CRYOCONCEPT joins R&D Precision Fabrication in the CRYOMAGNETICS’ group of companies dedicated to further science and provide better service to the physics and research communities.

CRYOCONCEPT, a company based near Saclay, France, was formed in 2000. The company specializes in the design and production of ultra low temperature cryogenic research tools. The company’s technology is largely based on the low temperature research work at the CEA and CNRS national research laboratories in France.

CRYOCONCEPT specializes in dilution refrigerator systems capable of producing temperatures below 10mK. In addition to traditional dilution refrigerator products which offer 30µW – 400µW cooling power at 100mK, the company’s new offerings include a liquid cryogen-free dilution refrigerator and a novel Inverted-DR.

CRYOCONCEPT’s Cryogen-Free provides the user with 100µW of cooling power at 100mK. The system is compact, economical to operate, and is based on low-vibration pulse tube cryocooler technology. The system requires no expensive liquid cryogens for operation.

CRYOCONCEPT’s Inverted-DR is a truly novel research tool, bringing ultra low temperatures to the desk-top. The I-DR gives researchers unprecedented ease of use and experimental flexibility, while simultaneously allowing the operator to take samples from room temperature to <100mK and back in one day.
